Public invited to help AAAWM draft its Annual Implementation Plan

Virtual public hearing to be held at 1 p.m. June 1

The Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan (AAAWM) is extending an invitation to the community to offer comments on its Draft Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) for the 2021 fiscal year.

The plan is an integral component of AAAWM's mission to provide quality services to older adults in order for them to remain independent in their homes and communities.

"The Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan values the feedback of those who reside in our nine-county service region. We encourage the public to attend this virtual hearing and share ideas, comments and ask questions," said Lacey Charboneau, AAAWM advocacy coordinator and planner.

A virtual public hearing will be held at 1 p.m. June 1 via Zoom to review and comment on the proposed plan.

A call-in option is available for those without internet access.

As part of AAAWM's Draft Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) for fiscal year 2021, the agency will address advocacy, helping older adults maintain their health and independence, promoting elder and vulnerable adult rights, and coordination of West Michigan's network of partners.
