REED CITY — There are big things coming down the pike for Reed City Area Public School district students, family, and staff.

Busy days are coming.

It’s Pride Week time — the annual celebration of all things Coyote.

“Pride Week is a way to get our students, district staff, and the entire community involved in our school-wide programs,” reported district superintendent Steven Westhoff. “This is very similar to Homecoming week. It’s just a great way to demonstrate our pride in this school district and in the extended Reed City community as well.”

In anticipation of Pride Week, RCAPS Board of Education members passed a Pride week Resolution at their last scheduled sitting held Monday, April 18.

The resolution reads in part:

“Whereas the district wishes to recognize the outstanding achievements of its students; and ...this district looks for ways to highlight the work of our fine teaching and support staffs; and ... the district wishes to thank both students and staff for their dedication, perseverance, commitment to excellence and talent, Be it now resolves that the Board of education signifies May 2-6 as Pride Week and invites all citizens to attend and enjoy the many special activities scheduled by the District.”

And so ...

“We have a lot of fun things planned, and we hope everyone throughout the community will join us and get involved in whatever they can,” said Westhoff.
