Police investigating near-drowning of Reed City infant

REED CITY — A Reed City infant is in critical condition after a near-drowning accident on Thursday.

Michigan State Police troopers from the Reed City detachment were dispatched at 5:30 p.m. to the 300 block of Eastland Drive on Hogback Lake in Osceola County’s Rose Lake Township. The 22-month old child was transported to Spectrum Health Reed City and later taken by Aeromed to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

As of Thursday morning, the child remains in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
