Pine River 6-9, Harrison 5-3

HARRISON – Pine River scored 6-5 and 9-3 wins over Harrison on Wednesday. The first game went eight innings.

Mackenzie Denton took the win in the first game, allowing six walks and seven hits. Taylor Hill had two hits and two RBIs. Bekah Dean had one hit.

Emma Whitley was the winning pitcher in the second game. KayLee Goodman, Dean and Megan Lockhart had two hits apiece.

Pine River is 13-10.

Pine River 8-11, Manton 6-9

LEROY— Pine River on May 18 won this Highland Conference twinbill, 8-6 and 11-9.

McKenzie Denton was the winner of the first game, allowing 10 hits and striking out three. KayLee Goodman had three hits, including a home run. Bekah Dean had two hits and two RBIs, Emma Whitley had two hits.

Whitley was the winning pitcher of the second game.

“We played good ball and got timely hits,” Pine River coach Mike Nelson said. “I’m happy the way the girls are improving.”

Pine River 8-9 Lake City 7-3

LEROY — Pine River swept Lake City 8-7 and 9-3 in Highland Conference games on Tuesday, May 15. Bekah Dean and Cayla Trowbridge had two hits apiece. Taylor Hill had one hit. Emma Whitley was the starting pitcher allowing five hits. Mackenzie Denton pitched the rest of the game for the win.

Kaylee Goodman had two hits and two RBIs in the second game. Maddie Marks had two hits and two RBIs. Hill also had a hit. Denton was the wining pitcher. Pine River is 4-6 in the league and 11-10 overall.

BASEBALL

Pine River 1-7, Lake City 0-5

LEROY — Pine River defeated Lake City 1-0 and 7-5 on Tuesday, May 22, in baseball action.

Luke Hill was the winning pitcher in game one with four strikeouts and four hits in six innings and Lane Ruppert had one double, one triple, and one run.

In game two, Andrew Park pitched four innings and struck out two while giving up one hit, one run, and three walks. Jake Roberts had two hits and three RBIs and Park had one single and one RBI.

Pine River

LEROY — The Pine River track team was at Manton on Tuesday, May 15, along with Beal City. On the boys’ side. Pine River beat Manton 97-61 and lost to Beal City 115-48. For the girls, Pine River lost to Beal City 90-70 and to Manton 87-76.

Junior Elijah Lewis took first in the 100, 200, 400 and long jump. Sophomore Garrett Dykhouse was third in the 100 and fourth in the 200.

For the girls, Payton Fulmerhouser took first in the 800, third in the 1,600, and was a leg on the first-place 3.200 relay along with Selma Barnett, Rebecca Horan and Grace Beebe. Barnett took second in the 1,600, while Horan was second in the 800. Ally Bannon took first in the high jump at five feet.
