Pine River hosts electronics recycling event

LEROY — Spring cleaning is one way to get rid of the junk and unused items cluttering up homes, and Pine River High School is offering a convenient and free option for those looking to rid themselves of old electronics.

The event will take place from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the school, located at 17445 Pine River School Road in Leroy.

The equipment will be picked up and recycled by Comprenew out of Grand Rapids. They will accept items including:

  • Printers, keyboards, mice and monitors
  • Computers, hard drives, external disks, floppy disks, modems and ink cartridges
  • Projectors, televisions, satellite dishes, VCRs, DVD players, DVDs and CDs
  • Telephones, cell phones, fax machines, copiers and answering machines
  • Radios, stereos and speakers, mp3 players, CD players, gaming systems
  • Cameras, calculators and batteries, power tools, power cords, cables and wires
  • Vacuums, microwaves, and non-hazardous medical equipment
