LEROY — The Pine River Chapter of the National Honor Society has announced it is hosting a new event: the Whitetail Color Fun Run.

The inaugural My School Color Run, an untimed 5K fun run for all ages and fitness abilities, will take place at approximately 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the new Pine River Cross Country Trail, approximately 1.67 miles west of U.S. 131 on 14 Mile Road.

Along the route of the run, participants will pass through color zones, making it a "colorful experience." A 2-mile option also will be available to runners.

Each pre-registered participant will be provided with a single powder color packet to be thrown in the air at the final color celebration at the finish line.

Participants who register by Friday, April 28, will receive a T-shirt, race bib and color packet.

To sign up for the run, visit WhitetailMSCR.eventbrite.com or by completing a paper registration form available at any of the three Pine River Area Schools' offices.

There also are business sponsoring opportunities available. To find out more, contact the Pine River Chapter of National Honor Society by calling (231) 829-3841 ext. 3026 or email Madelyn.haskel@pineriver.org.
