PRAS purchases new Chromebooks

LEROY — New Chromebooks will soon be in the hands of Pine River Area Schools students in fourth, seventh and tenth grades.

At a May 9 meeting, board of education members approved the purchase of 265 Chromebooks for approximately $58,000.

In other business, the board members approved hiring Alyssa Crouch as a special education teacher in grades six through 12 and Emily Adema as an upper elementary special education teacher. In addition, the board approved Holly Lockhart to move from teaching math to the position of academic services coordinator.

Also, the board accepted the resignation of high school football assistant coach Tim Jones and middle school girls basketball and volleyball coach Myranda McDonald.
