Osceola County’s 77th District Court reports

REED CITY — The following cases were heard this week in Osceola County’s 77th District Court. All cases might not be reported.

  • Dennis Earle Wood, 45, of Marion, pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license. He is sentenced to 30 days in jail.
  • Mark Edward Ovares, 50, of Sears, pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license. He was convicted by the court of having no proof of insurance. He is sentenced to time served. He must perform 20 hours of community service as part of his sentence.
  • Jerry Lee Horton, Jr., 33, of Reed City, pleaded guilty to one count of illegal taking of a deer and one count of using artificial light to take game. He is sentenced to 10 days in jail with one day credit. He must pay restitution of $2,000. His hunting license is revoked for the remainder of 2016, plus the following three years.
  • Paul Xiong, 35, of Lansing, pleaded guilty to one count of operating while intoxicated and one count of transporting an open alcohol container in a vehicle. He is sentenced to 30 days in jail with one day credit. He is given the option of 90 days electronic monitoring or 60 days plus completion of Impact weekend. He will be on probation for two years. The vehicle in the offense shall be immobilized or forfeited. 
  • Nichole Marie Adams, 32, of Tustin, pleaded guilty to writing a check with no account. She is sentenced to time served. She must perform 24 hours of community service as part of her sentence. She will be on probation for one year.
  • Christopher Shane Nelson, 41, of Reed City, pleaded guilty to domestic violence. He is sentenced to time served. He will be on probation for one year. He must complete alternatives to violence courses.
  • William Spencer Honeycutt, 20, of Lake, pleaded guilty to one count of operating without insurance, one count of improper use of a license plate and one count of failure to apply for a new title. He is sentenced to time served. He must pay fines and court costs.
  • Thomas Merdith Bennett, 68, of Evart, pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license. He is sentenced to 30 days in jail. Jail is held in abeyance. The vehicle used in the offense shall be immobilized or forfeited.
  • Billie Jo Henry, 45, of Orion, pleaded guilty to false pretense less than $200. He is sentenced to five days in jail. He must perform 40 hours of community service as part of his sentence. He must complete the economic crime program. He will be on probation for one year. He must pay restitution of $439.
  • Michael Joseph Boerma, 47, of LeRoy, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm. He is sentenced to time served. The weapon is forfeited. 
  • Joe Steve Wetherell, 62, of Cadillac, pleaded guilty to unlicensed residential builder. His sentence is delayed. He will be on probation for one year. He must perform 120 hours of community service as part of his sentence.
  • Shelly Kay Tacktor, 32, of Newaygo, pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license. She must pay fines and court costs. He must perform 32 hours of community service.
  • Ronald Wayne Fullerton, 52, of Marion, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated. He is sentenced to 30 days in jail. He is given the option of 90 days electronic monitoring or 60 days plus the completion of Impact weekend in lieu of jail. He will be on probation for two years.
  • Brennon Michael-Jean Strong, 27, of Tustin, pleaded guilty to abandoning/cruelty to two or three animals. He is sentenced to time served. He will be on probation for two years. He must perform 120 hours of community service as part of his sentence. He is not allowed to own or possess any animals for two years. He must pay restitution of $1,176. 
  • Joseph Allen Comstock, 50, of Evart, pleaded guilty to operating without insurance. He must complete 20 hours of community service as part of his sentence.
  • Cathryn Rose Cundiff, 25, of Rodney, pleaded guilty to second-degree retail fraud. She is sentenced to time served. She must pay restitution of $3. In a separate case, she pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license. She is sentenced to time served. She must pay restitution of $1.39.
  • Marco Deangelos Brown, 32, of Traverse City, pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly person and one count of attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing an officer. He is sentenced to time served. He will be on probation for one year. He must complete anger management counseling.
