• The VFW Post 2964 in Reed city will host a fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3, at 129 E. Osceola St. Dinners are $9 per person. Call for reservations at 231-832-5102.
• The Crossroads Theatre Guild in Reed City will perform “A Crossroads Christmas” at 7 p.m., Dec. 3,4,10 and 11; and at 2 p.m., Dec. 5 and 12, at the Crossroads Theatre, 249 W. Upton Ave., Reed City. Call for reservations at 231-465-4044.
• The Village of Barryton will host an “Old Fashion Christmas” on Dec. 4. Santa will be at Mackersie Butcher Shop from 4 to 5:45 p.m.; Lonnie’s BP will have free pizza slices from 4 to 5:45 p.m.; Christmas tree lighting will take place from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Barryton Historical Museum; Steadfast Baptist Church will host a sing-a-long with prayer, hot drinks, cookies and a campfire.
• The Evart city council will meet at 8 p.m., Dec. 6, at the Depot, 200 Main St., Evart. There will be a work session beginning at 7:30. The public is welcome to attend. For more information visit evart.org or call 231-734-2181.
• The Osceola County board of commissioners will meet at 9:30 a.m., Dec. 7, at the Osceola County Courthouse, 301 Upton Ave., Reed City. For more information visit osceola-county.org or call 231-832-3261.
• The Reed City Area public schools is teaming up with the Central Michigan District Health Department to offer a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students ages 5 to 17 and adults 18 and up. Dose 1 will be from 3:30 to 6 p.m., Dec. 1 and dose 2 will be from 3:30 to 6 p.m., Jan. 5, at G.T. Norman Elementary library. Bring a medical insurance card with you if available. A staff COVID-19 booster and COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held from 1:30 to 4:15 p.m., Dec. 3 at the Reed City Middle School, 233 W. Church St., Reed City. • The Evart Chamber of Commerce is hosting the first annual Miracle on Main street Christmas celebration at 6 p.m., Dec. 11. Festivities will include a lighted parade on Main Street, tree lighting at the Depot, a Santa meet and greet and ice skating (weather permitting).
• The Evart Area Chamber of Commerce will host the first annual Lighted Nitetime Christmas Parade at 6 p.m., Dec. 11. To include your float or vehicle in the parade contact Chris Emerick via text to 517-896-0784 or of Facebook messenger.
• The Reed City Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City.
• The Reed City Senior Center at 219 E. Todd Ave., hosts the following events weekly: Wednesdays at noon - Fun Bingo; Thursdays at noon- Euchre; Friday – doors open at 10:30 a.m., Early Bird at 11:30 a.m. and Regular Bingo at noon. • The Reed City winter parking ban is in effect now until April 1. Parking is prohibited on any street in Reed City between 2:30 and 6 a.m.
• The Evart winter parking ban is in effect now through April 1. Parking is prohibited on any street in the city between 2 and 6 a.m. this does not apply to the north side of 6th Street between Main and River streets.
