Osceola County community events calendar

OSCEOLA COUNTY — The following is a list of community events happening in and around the area. If you have an event you would like posted on the calendar, or if any information is incorrect, contact cathie.crew@pioneergroup.com:

•    The Reed City winter parking ban is in effect now until April 1. Parking is prohibited on any street in Reed City between 2:30 and 6 a.m.

•    The Evart winter parking ban is in effect now through April 1. Parking is prohibited on any street in the city between 2 and 6 a.m. this does not apply to the north side of 6th Street between Main and River streets.

•    The Evart city council will meet at 8 p.m., Nov. 18, at the Depot, 200 S. Main St., Evart. For more information visit evart.org or call 231-734-2181.

•    The Meceola Currie Comfort Home staff will host a champagne and dessert fundraiser at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Nov. 19, at the Osceola County Fairgrounds 4H building. This is a fundraising and informational event. Attendees will be updated on the progress of the home, will hear from two special speakers and will have the chance to enter a “wine pull” raffle. •    Trinity Lutheran Church and School will host its annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 20. The event features handcrafted items, decorations, baked goods, select gently used items and an “unfinished crafts” materials table. There is a prize drawing for handcrafted items including a quilt, painting, wooden bowl, growth chart and magazine rack. Tickets are $1.00 each or six for $5.00 and can be purchased at the event. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu includes chicken noodle or potato soup, sloppy joes, salad and pie. All items are $1.50 each. Beverages provided at no additional cost. This is not a vendor show – all items for sale are donated and proceeds go toward Trinity Lutheran Church and School. The Christmas Bazaar is sponsored by Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Thrivent Financial.

•    The Reed City Evergreen Festival Craft Show will be from 9 a.m., to 4 p.m., Nov. 26 & 27, at the Reed City High School. Over 100 crafters will be there, and Santa will be visiting. Booths are still available. For information call 231-832-5517.

•    The Reed City Evergreen Festival parade will be at 6 p.m., Nov. 26, in downtown Reed City. Line up will begin at 5:15 p.m. The parade will travel West on Church Street, North on Sears then East on Upton Ave. to end at the Reed City Depot. There will be a Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Depot, including hot cocoa, cookies, and Christmas Caroling with Santa, Mrs. Claus & Elves. •    The Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce will host Santa Social at the Depot from 10 a.m. to noon, Nov. 27. They will be showing “The Polar Express” inside the Depot with fresh pizza provided by Pompeii’s and ice cold water provided by Wesco.

•    The Evart Chamber of Commerce is hosting the first annual Miracle on Main street Christmas celebration at 6 p.m., Dec. 11. Festivities will include a lighted parade on Main Street, tree lighting at the Depot, a Santa meet and greet and ice skating (weather permitting).

•    The Evart Area Chamber of Commerce will host the first annual Lighted Nitetime Christmas Parade at 6 p.m., Dec. 11. To include your float or vehicle in the parade contact Chris Emerick via text to 517-896-0784 or of Facebook messenger.

•    The Reed City Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City.

•    The Reed City Senior Center at 219 E. Todd Ave., hosts the following events weekly: Wednesdays at noon - Fun Bingo; Thursdays at noon- Euchre; Friday – doors open at 10:30 a.m., Early Bird at 11:30 a.m. and Regular Bingo at noon.
