Osceola County Sheriff's Office sees slight increase in calls in September

Deputies respond to 15 domestic assault calls

OSCEOLA COUNTY — The Osceola County Sheriff's Office received 578 calls for service in September, slightly more than in August.

According to information from the sheriff's office, personnel fielded 73 more calls in September than August's 505 calls, a 14.5% increase. From May through August, the department averaged 517.75 calls a month.

The greatest number of calls related to motor vehicles. Deputies made 79 traffic stops and responded to 78 property damage accidents and three private property damage accidents. The assisted 15 motorist and participated in three fleeing and eluding pursuits.

Deputies performed 24 wellbeing checks and 37 area checks, and checked out 16 suspicious situations. They also responded to 10 calls for malicious destruction of property, 18 calls for disorderly conduct and 17 trespassing calls.

In addition, the corrections staff booked in 56 subject into the county jail.
