Osceola County Compassion Club planning donation drive for needy
OSCEOLA COUNTY — Members of the Osceola County Compassion Club will host a donation drive and distribution on Wednesday to help needy families in the area.
Donations can be dropped off from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Grace Communion International Church, located at 9119 U.S. 10 in Chase. Families may come to the church between 2 and 6 p.m. to receive food, clothing and personal hygiene items.
“They can show up and get whatever they need,” said club president Joe Alexander. “We’re asking people to clean out their closets for the cause. Whatever people want to get rid of, other people can probably use. We’d like to get some books for kids and stuff like toothbrushes and toothpaste, too.”
The Osceola County Compassion Club, a support and information group for medical marijuana patients and their families, meets from 2 to 4 p.m. every other Sunday at Sunrise Lake Bar, located at 15230 KS Spencer Rd. in LeRoy.
The club also has formed a new branch for Lake County residents and Osceola County residents on the west side of the county. The Lake Osceola Compassion Club meets from 6 to 8 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at Chase Township Hall, located at 8296 E. U.S.10 in Chase.
