REED CITY — High school and college students who wish to apply for scholarships from the Osceola County Community Foundation have a longer window this year to do so.
The scholarship application for Fremont Area Community Foundation and its three affiliates — Osceola County Community Foundation, Mecosta County Community Foundation and Lake County Community Foundation — is now open. The application opened on Oct. 1 and will close on March 1, 2018.
Each year, the four community foundations award hundreds of scholarships to college-bound students and residents pursuing career training. The online application is opening earlier this year to coincide with Michigan College Month, which takes place in October. The statewide campaign focuses on supporting high school seniors as they complete important steps in the college-going process like applying to schools and for financial aid.
Completing the general scholarship application puts students in consideration for multiple scholarships. Scholarships are available to students who live in or attend high schools in Osceola, Mecosta, Lake or Newaygo counties. In Osceola and Mecosta counties, there also are scholarships available for current college students.
All scholarship applications must be submitted online. For more information or to apply, visit facommunityfoundation.org/scholarships. Special information for Osceola, Mecosta and Lake counties can be found under “Geographic Affiliate Scholarships.”
