One teen killed, another injured in Marion Township crash
Osceola County Sheriff’s Office continues investigating accident
MARION TWP. — One driver was killed and another severely injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday night in Osceola County.
Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched at 10:36 p.m. to the intersection of 20 Mile Road and 5th Avenue in Marion Township for a report of a crash.
On scene, officers gathered information which indicates a small four-door sedan driven by an 18-year-old Marion man was traveling northbound on 5th Avenue. The driver failed to yield at 20 Mile Road, causing the collision between his vehicle and a small SUV driven by a 19-year-old Marion woman.
The 18-year-old sustained fatal injuries from the accident, while the female driver was transported by Aeromed to Grand Rapids for treatment of her severe injuries.
Police have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident. This incident remains under investigation. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Michigan State Police, Osceola County EMS and Marion Fire/Rescue.
