REED CITY — The Reed City Brewing Company will host its 2nd annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 25.
The festivities will kick off at 2 p.m. with live music, German food and, of course, German beer.
“This is our second year to do this event,” Courtney Murphy said. “We will have bands playing through the night and our own special German brews, Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers.”
Prizes will be awarded for best Oktoberfest dressed patrons. Oktoberfest merchandise will be available for purchase, including shirts and special commemorative Oktoberfest glassware.
Live bands, including Truck Stop Traffic and two members of Damned by Dawn, will play throughout the evening.
To accommodate the crowd, Reed City Brewing received permission from the city council to close off Higbee Street for the event.
Precautions regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will include spacing out of tables and limited capacity inside the bar and restaurant.
“We were able to get the street closed off so we can do this outside, and we will keep the tables spaced out,” Murphy said. “If worse comes to worse, we may have to take some other precautions.”
Admission is free to the event.
