Former Central Michigan Community Federal Credit Union becomes Members First

EVART — Community members, Downtown Development Authority board and credit union staff gathered on Oct. 26 to celebrate the merger between two credit unions. Central Michigan Community Federal Credit Union and Members First Credit Union merged in June and hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at it’s Evart office, located at 201 E. 7th St. “We’re here to celebrate the merger between Central Michigan and Members First,” said Members First CEO Eric Brubaker. “We’re looking forward to continuing the tradition Central Michigan started in Evart and also being active locally.” The credit union already has become more involved in the local community than in the past, said Dee Nahikian, Evart branch manager. With the goal of making a positive difference in the communities they serve, Members First held a fundraiser for the local schools a few months ago and collected items to donate to the Osceola County Animal Control. Currently, the business is selling paper pumpkins for cystic fibrosis awareness. “We’re going to be an asset to the community by being more involved than we were,” Nahikian said. Along with investing in community events and organizations, the bank also has added employees and expanded its services. “We’re branching out in the business area,” Nahikian said. “We’re offering more commercial loans and services than we have in the past.” Members First offers online and mobile banking and has eight locations around the state, including branches in Mt. Pleasant, Midland, Clare and Gladwin. Individuals with questions about the merger can visit
