Evart's Wildcat Fitness celebrates opening day

EVART — The doors to the city of Evart’s first public gymnasium and fitness center opened on Monday, Jan. 31.

Owned by husband and wife Kameron and Tiffiney Cooper, Wildcat Fitness & Nutrition will cater to locals, who have either had to travel to workout, or do so from the confines of their own home.

The Coopers, who are also Evart residents, have been fitness enthusiasts for “a long time,” said they felt the addition of a fitness center in town was much-needed.

“We (had) a soft opening (earlier this week), so we have friends and family in the gym to test everything out,” Tiffiney Cooper said.

Tiffiney Cooper said she and her husband have had the idea of opening their own gym for a while, with the plan starting to quickly come to fruition during the last year.

Construction has been somewhat of a time-consuming process, but it’s one that has virtually been completed at this point.

“We had talked about it for a long time, but for planning stages, it’s been about a year,” Cooper said. “It was an empty building, but we built the gym. Everything that’s been done on the inside, Kameron and I did.”

Work inside the building has moved steadily since the beginning of December while constructing various equipment began back in October.

Cooper said it took her and husband a little bit of research before they determined which machines they wanted to have in their gym.

The Coopers also have five children, and Tiffiney said she would like to one day leave the business to them.
