National Night Out sees attendance increase

EVART – The 8th Annual National Night Out brought in roughly 1,000 people Tuesday night at Riverside Park.

Firefighter Ryan Douglas said the night's purpose is to "get the community involved" with Emergency Medical Services, State Troopers, the Department of Natural Resources and other public safety teams in Osceola County.

Children enjoyed a bounce house, a fire-hose sprinkler and had the opportunity to climb in police trucks throughout the evening. Police-community partnerships also offered food, music and prizes.

Douglas said this year's community participation was the most successful yet.
