REED CITY — Kamryn Myers and the Reed City girls are off to a 4-0 basketball start, and the Coyotes hope to keep it going this week.

Myers had nine points in Reed City’s 55-27 non-league win over Cadillac earlier this month. Seven days earlier, Reed City opened the season with a 37-35 win over Pine River. The Coyotes beat Newaygo and Fremont in Central State Activities Association Gold Division game.

“We played all right for our first game,” Myers said. “We were a little rusty. We definitely have a lot of things to work on. We need to work on layups, boxing out and defense.”

Myers is in her third varsity season.

“I think we’ll be pretty good this year,” She said. “We have a lot of (of experience back). We need to stay healthy.”

Myers indicated her role as a point guard will stay the same this season.

“I’ve improved on shooting and dribbling,” she said.

“The Coyotes have more experience this season,” Myers said. “We only lost one person and brought up a couple. I think we’ll get better. I think our strengths are shooting and making passes.”
