Music lovers pour into fairgrounds for annual Dulcimer Festival
Thousands of music lovers are already pouring into the Osceola 4-H FFA Fairgrounds in Evart for the annual Non-electric Musical Funfest – best known throughout the area as the Dulcimer Festival.
Although the fairgrounds camp area has been slowly but surely filling up since the Independence Day holiday, the largest crowds and walk-in day visitors really started making their way to Evart Thursday – the official opening day of the three-day Funfest. Around the fairgrounds there were scores of classes, seminars, workshops and jam sessions, for any and all instruments of choice.
And kids weren’t left out. A special section of the fairgrounds was dedicated to fun crafts, activities and games under the watchful eye of volunteers.
Venders are out in force selling everything from guitar picks to Psaltrys and autoharps, and there is plenty of good, ol’ fashion fair-style food being marketed to visitors all day long.
The Funfest is certainly a signature event in Evart and one of the most popular ‘happenings’ around the Osceola County area. Now, folks are just waiting to see if the weather cooperates.
In the meantime, a good time is being had by all and organizers invite all comers to visit the fairgrounds and get a taste of the fun.
