LAYING GROUNDWORK: A crew of 50 people, including Evart High School football players, Evart Moose Lodge members, Department of Public Works workers and others, helped spread shredded rubber tires early in the morning on Wednesday, June 26 at Riverside West park. The shredded tires will serve as the base for playground equipment the city purchased in February in an online auaction from an elementary school in metro Detroit. Evart was able to purchase and install the equipment for less than $25,000. New equipment would have cost the city upwards of $90,000. (Herald Review photo/Emily Grove-Davis)
