Motorcyclist airlifted after crash in Osceola County

SHERMAN TWP.  — A motorcyclist was flown to Grand Rapids for treatment after crashing a motorcycle on Friday in Osceola County's Sherman Township.

Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies were called around 5:41 p.m. to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of 20 Mile Road and 130th Avenue.

The accident occurred when the driver of a three-wheeled Honda motorcycle lost control while turning the corner and stuck a tree. The driver, from Midland, was airlifted to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash. The driver was wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Tustin Rescue and Osceola County EMS assisted the sheriff's office at the scene.
