Man faces life in prison for eight sexual conduct charges
HERSEY — A Hersey man facing eight charges of criminal sexual conduct was arrested on April 6 after a two-month investigation by the Michigan State Police.
Timothy Handy, 46, is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
He is lodged at Osceola County Jail without bond. If convicted, Handy could face life in prison.
The investigation began after a child reported that they had been touched by Handy. The child’s statements led to the interview of other children, who had also reported being touched by Handy. Investigators believe three different children were involved.
Michigan State Police and the Osceola County Prosecutor’s Office declined to elaborate on the details of the case before Handy’s preliminary exam, which is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in Osceola County’s 77th District Court.
