MOSAC to host petting zoo

MECOSTA, OSCEOLA COUNTIES — In an effort to encourage strong family engagement, the Mecosta-Osceola Substance Awareness Coalition (MOSAC) will be hosting a petting zoo during the Evart Fall Festival, Saturday, Oct. 12.

The petting zoo will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is part of MOSAC's Free Sober Family Social Events.

"There will be a petting zoo, family picnic and games," Mecosta/Osceola Ten16 prevention coordinator Shay Tullar said.

At the petting zoo, guests will have the opportunity to feed the animals with free animal food provided by MOSAC.

Hot dog lunches also will be given to the first 400 people who arrive.

"I am excited to be out in town and see all of the families come to enjoy the festivities. It is probably my favorite event of the year," Tullar said.

MOSAC also will have information available for kids and parents about substance use and prevention during the event.

All of MOSAC's events are substance-free and promote a safe, family-friendly environment, according to Tullar.
