Lions Club hosts NFL competition

EVART — About 40 children from the ages of 6 to 15 tried their hand at a number of football skills in the hopes to be good enough to show their talents on a national level.

The free competition known as Punt, Pass and Kick, which is sponsored nationally by the National Football League and hosted locally by the Evart Lions Club, took place on Sept. 17. Boys and girls took to the football field at the Osceola County 4-H FFA Fairgrounds to try their luck.

The top finishers in each age group at the local level will advance to a sectional round, team championship round and the national finals round. The top finisher in each age bracket will be named the Punt, Pass and Kick national champion.
