Local Christians attend annual Good Friday Cross Walk

REED CITY — Dozens of individuals took to the streets in reflection on March 25 for the annual Cross Walk, offered by Reed City United Methodist Church.

Though attendance was down due to colder and snowy weather conditions, Reed City United Methodist Church Pastor Kathy Cadarette said she was grateful for those who were able to participate.

"All things considered, it went very well," she added.

Walkers trekked from the Reed City Depot to the church, where attendees joined in prayers and hymns. Throughout the short journey, individuals took turns carrying the cross. The event is a way for Christians to symbolically experience walking with and carrying the cross as Jesus Christ did on Good Friday.

"The Cross Walk draws us all together as Christians," Cadarette said. "We put aside our separate denominations and we agree to follow the cross."
