REED CITY — An Evart man was sentenced on Friday in Osceola County’s 49th Circuit Court to four to 15 years in prison for third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Dustin James Lewis, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree CSC in November. In exchange for his plea, the Osceola County Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the remaining six charges.

In June, Lewis was arrested for the multiple sexual assault charges, which occurred on May 3, in Evart, according to court documents. Court documents show that all charges involved force or coercion and the victim was a female relative.

During the sentencing, Lewis’ attorney, Kimberly Booher, said Lewis is extremely remorseful for what happened and indicated he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Lewis is given credit for 175 days already served. Upon release, he will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
