Flea Market and Yard Sale takes place May 28-29 in the Evart Air Industrial Park

EVART – Following years of growth, enthusiasm, and success, Evart Chamber of Commerce Flea Market and Yard Sale organizers are once again looking forward to a busy and bustling event this year with more of the same as in years past - and then a little more!

Back in 2008, some 40 booths or sale spaces were reserved. At the close of the then one-day event, 82 venders had actually set up shop with customers strolling the Flea Market area.

The next year, there were more than 100 venders — private, organizational and others — taking advantage of early registration in order to cement in a good spot.

In 2010, there were at least 120 sites prepared and available.

This year, it’s going to be bigger and it’s going to be more fun than ever before.

The now-annual Flea Market and Yard Sale “happening” takes place just off U.S. 10, in the Air Industrial Park area just west of town is set for Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, (rain or shine) in the Evart Air Industrial Park — a great place for a lot of drive by traffic.

Sales begin on Saturday at 8 a.m. and run through ...whenever.

Sunday sales begin at 11 a.m. and run through 5 p.m.

There’s still time to get signed up for a chance to sell ...or resell ...all that “good stuff” tucked away in the garage, basement, or shed.

Planning for and participation in the “biggest and best” flea market and yardsale in Osceola County is picking up momentum and folks are getting excited over what may well be the biggest outdoor marketplace in the area in a long, long time, if ever.

The Evart Chamber team is expecting thousands to fill the outdoor market place — cutting some great deals and making great buys. More and more customers have learned to mark their calendars in anticipation of the Flea Market.

Last year, organizers noted that part of the success in holding the Flea Market and Yardsale can be explained by the fact that it is actually not a fundraiser. The site fees cover expenses - and that’s all.

This is simply an event the Chamber created to let people sell the stuff they want to while having the greatest number of potential customers walking by. At the same time the Flea Market allows folks from the local community and visitors to the Evart area a great way to pick up some wonderful bargains.

Thousands stop by to stroll the sales area. Chamber planners anticipate seeing even more taking part —both as buyers and sellers — this year.

There will be plenty of parking for customers immediately adjacent to the Flea Market site.

Organizers believe the flea market-yardsale can be a great opportunity for someone wanting to sell off some stuff - but not do so at home. It also is a great chance for church groups and civic organizations to make a little money for their activities and causes.
