REED CITY – Last Saturday’s Art in the Park session featured artist was Donna Mehert , a very creative jewelry maker.

Her “Sketches of Paris” collection contain beautiful pieces crafted with lampwork beads and named after popular scenes in Paris.

Several stations of different beading materials were available for artists to make their own necklaces or bracelets. Younger children enjoyed making very colorful necklaces using dried noodles while teens used smaller plastic or glass beads. Everyone’s creativity showed through in their unique designs.

The next Art in the Park session will be on July 23 from 9-11 a.m. at Rambadt Park and will be featuring African Art.

Artists will be using natural materials to create wonderful projects. Bring along a unique jar with a lid to use for sand art and a cardboard paper towel tube to make a rain stick.

Organizers encourage area residents and visitors to come and take advantage of great event that’s fun for all ages and free.
