EVART -- Elvis impersonator Jake Slater drew a large crowd for his performance at the Evart Depot on Saturday, Aug. 29. The concert was part of the Evart Farmers' Market entertainment line up.

Slater mingled with the crowd while singing familiar Elvis Presley hits, including a crowd favorite, "Peace in the Valley."

An Elvis fan from an early age, Slater began performing his Elvis tribute show in 2008, singing titles from the '50s, '60s and '70s, and has won numerous awards for his portrayal of Elvis.

Entertainment during the Evart Farmers' Market is sponsored by the Evart Downtown Development Authority.

Upcoming performances include, Clark the Juggler at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and noon, Sept.5; the Kari Lynch Band at 11 a.m., Sept. 12; and Proximity Illusion with Carrie Rostollan-Magicienne at noon, Sept. 19.
