EVART — Hundreds of people of all ages packed the lawn at the Evart Depot to see Elvis impersonator Jake Slater perform on Thursday as part of the city’s Musicale concert series.

Slater, who is only 21 years old, performed Elvis hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” and “Baby Let’s Play House.”

Hailing from Saginaw, he is internationally known and has received a number of distinctions for his impersonation of the King of Rock ‘N Roll.

Evart Downtown Development Authority Director Al Weinberg said the show is the largest Musicale concert to date.

The next free Musicale concert will feature Flight, an Eagles tribute band. The show will begin at 7 p.m. on July 3 at the Osceola County 4-H FFA Fairgrounds before the fireworks. For more information, visit www.evart.org.
