Hersey man arrested for felonious assault after firing gun at two men
GREEN TWP. — A Hersey man was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting at two men in Green Township.
Roger Lynn, 52, of Hersey, was arraigned Friday in Mecosta County’s 77th District Court on one count of felonious assault.
The charge stems from an investigation into a 911 call just after midnight on Thursday, where two men reported Lynn had pointed a handgun at them and fired while they were at his home. The men were not injured, but the shot came very close to hitting them.
Mecosta County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and found evidence of the gunshot, but Lynn had fled his residence.
After securing a felony arrest warrant for Lynn and a search warrant for his residence, detectives from Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Big Rapids executed the search warrant and secured multiple weapons and other evidence from Lynn’s home. Lynn was located at a relatives house and taken into custody without incident.
He remains lodged in the Mecosta County Jail. Bond has been set at $100,000.
