HERSEY — In a little over a week there will be lots of fun to be had in Hersey.

For the second year running, the Hersey Harvest Festival will be a highlight of the late summer/early autumn season.

Folks from the Hersey community are getting ready to gather to kick off the fall season and hold a party in the best traditions of a good ol’ fashioned community festival.

The Second Annual Hersey Harvest Festival is set to go, and organizers are looking forward to a celebration that will be ‘bigger and better” than ever before.

The Festival will take place the last weekend in September — Saturday, Sept. 24 — and there should be a lot of fun for just about everyone.

The fun begins at 10 a.m. in Hersey’s Mosaic Park. All the events are free of charge and organizers are hoping folks will bring a donation of canned goods to help boost much needed supplies in local food pantries. The ‘party’ will last until 2 p.m.

On the schedule are a chance to build a real scarecrow, good ol’ fashioned fun such as a sack race, a ton of kids games and prizes, crafts, face painting, refreshments, and much, much more.

Organizers are really looking forward to a great time and have tried to create a festival that will give families from throughout the area a great way to spend some time together and have a early autumn day of fun and activities.

Although the day is tagged “Hersey Harvest Festival”, organizers hope neighbors from all around the extended community will join in the celebration.

It’s all about family and community.
