REED CITY — Country music from Michigan-based Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys will resound during this year's Great American Crossroads Celebration in Reed City.

The celebration will take place from Thursday, Aug. 15, to Sunday, Aug. 18, at Westerburg Park. The band will perform two shows on Aug. 17 - one for all ages at 6:15 p.m. and another for adults 21 year and older at 9 p.m. at the entertainment tent. Tickets will be $5.

Reed City Chamber of Commerce Director Suzie Williams said she and the event's other organizers looked into booking the band after they performed in Hersey last year.

"We wondered what we could do on that Saturday night that the family can attend and is different," Williams said. "It's really fun when we can do something different."

Luckily, the band had an open spot before going on tour across the country to promote their newly released album. Williams said the timing is perfect and is hopeful the younger generations will take advantage of the band's appearance.

"We have very little that the youth like to do during the celebration, and we hope this is something that they will want to do and bring their friends to," she added.

Williams said she hopes the band will attract more attendees from in and outside of the area.

"We're excited to bring Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys to Reed City," Williams said. "We hope people will like it."
