Goodwill Workforce Development center to host open house
BIG RAPIDS — The Big Rapids Goodwill Workforce Development Center will host a open house to celebrate its new location on State Street.
The open house will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at 203 S. State Street in Big Rapids.
The center will offer computers, training courses and one-on-one help from advisers along with a training and interview room. The new career center represents Goodwill’s commitment to Mecosta and Osceola counties by using money from donations to put resources back into the community, said Jill Wallace, chief marketing and communications officer for Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids.
The workforce development staff serves veterans, displaced workers, underemployed workers, sex offenders and anyone looking for general employment opportunities or looking for economic stability.
The Goodwill Workforce Development center in Big Rapids is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center takes walk-in clients or to schedule an appointment contact Young at (231) 206-4877.
