Golf scramble fundraiser tees off June 21

REED CITY — Members of Special Olympics Michigan and Area 5-Mecosta and Osceola counties are seeking participants for the 2013 fourth annual 4-Person Golf Scramble, which will begin at 9 a.m. on June 21 at Spring Valley Golf Course.

For $50, golfers will receive 18 holes of golf and a cart, along with a hot dog and chips halfway through the course, and a hamburger and sides following the scramble’s end. Team prizes, a raffle, contests and more also will be featured at the event.

Funds raised will benefit the Area 5 Golf Team, said Patricia Rosales, the Special Olympics Michigan Area 5 director.

“The money will go toward registration expenses at the State Summer Sports Classic down in Ypsilanti in July. It also funds transportation, hotel accommodations, meals and uniforms,” said Rosales.

Individual and team payments must be turned in by June 15.

Spring Valley Golf Course is located at 18396 U.S.10 in Reed City. For more information or to pre-register, call Patricia Rosales at (231) 867-3008.
