REED CITY — New members of the court were crowned on Aug. 14, as the 2014 Crossroads Festival kicked off with the annual Reed City Pageant.

The event is hosted by the General Federation of Women’s Club, and up for grabs this year were the titles for Queen, Junior Queen, Princess and Prince.

Contestants competed in three categories, including casual wear, talent and formal wear, along with a personal interview by a panel of judges. Talent ranged from singing and dancing, to demonstrating 4-H animal showing.

This year, Chelsea Gogolowski, who also competed in last year's pageant, was crowned Miss Reed City.

“I really like performing in front of people," she said. "It's fun for me.”

First timer and brand new Reed City resident, Junior Queen Paige Williams, didn’t seem shy at all in front of a crowd.

“I just moved from Wisconsin and I entered because I thought it would be a neat way to meet some people,” she said.

Both Princess Madison Wayne and Prince Benjamin Wayne said they had a lot of fun singing.
