Gateway Community Band presents hymn sing Thursday

The Gateway Community Band, under the direction of Mr. Kenneth Feneley, would like to present “A Harvest Celebration Hymn Sing”at the Gladwin High School Cafetorium on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The program will include several powerful band numbers beginning with Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken and will also be filled with sweet heavenly sounds from the audience as everyone is invited to sing along with the band to several old time favorite hymns including, Abide With Me, Blessed Assurance, Onward Christian Soldiers, What A Friend We Have In Jesus, We’re Marching To Zion and others, all of which were arranged by a favorite American composer Henry Filmore.

The Gateway Community Band is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization with 60 members, ranging in age from recent high school graduates to retirees, coming from all over Mid-Michigan. The members share a common bond: a genuine love of making great music. So come and join the Gateway Community Band with your voices as we spend the evening enjoying many favorite old hymns that live in the hearts of every generation.
