G.T. Norman choir hosts evening of song

REED CITY — Three dozen third, fourth and fifth graders were selected to the Boys Honors Choir at G.T. Norman Elementary School and entertained Thursday night, March 31, before a large crowd in Reed City.

Some of the early songs included It Don’t Mean a Thing, with soloist Connor Lee taking a leading role. Also on the concert schedule were the songs Shake It Up!, Stand Up, and Sarasponda.

At that point, the choir went into a special feature, A Tribute to Mitch Miller and the Gang, singing old time favorites for many in the audience including, Side by Side, Sweet Violets, Don’t Fence Me In, Sing Along and Dancin’ on the Rooftop.

The songs came complete with a variety of actions, the playing of kazoos, and many members of the audience stopped by a display table featuring old record albums by none other than Mitch Miller and the Gang.
