The team also will hold a golf scramble at 9:30 with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 19. Teams of four are invited to participate in the 18-hole scramble. The price per team is $200, which includes green fees, cart, a continental breakfast, a snack on the turn, lunch, goodie bags and prizes. The  top three teams will win 100, 50 and 30 pounds of beef, respectively.

All funds raised will go towards the team’s trip to Nicaragua on July 14-23, to help them raise a remaining $3,200 by May 25. They will work with local churches to help families whose children are at risk of becoming orphans due to the extreme poverty in Nicaragua, the Western hemisphere’s second poorest nation, said team leader Rob Rounds.

Through drama, games, crafts, feeding programs, and other projects, the team will encourage churches and families as they work together to keep kids safe and well cared for. The group will partner with World Orphans, an organization which brings churches in the United States together with churches all over the world to help orphans and those at immediate risk of becoming orphans due to poverty, child trafficking, disease and abandonment.
