REED CITY – Classic rock band Free Flight will perform for audience members at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Reed City Depot.

Free Flight originally formed in the late 1970s and played throughout western and central Michigan into the 1980s. During that time, Free Flight opened for such bands as Santana, Journey, Eddie Money, Head East and others.

Regrouping in 2001 with three of the original five-man line-up, Free Flight plays many classic-rock favorites along with several newer songs by classic-rock bands.

Original members Gale Rodarmer on guitar, Ben Stout on bass and David Szot on guitar and keyboard are joined by new Free Flight drummer Terry Comer.

“These songs have served us well over the years,” said band spokesman Ben Stout, “and we are finding that these songs are still exciting audiences when we play them in concertsand other outings.

“The best thing about playing music again is meeting some of our fans from way back when.”
