Free Flight to perform Friday

REED CITY — Free Flight is a classic rock band with a local following that dates back to the time when Free Flight played throughout western and central Michigan during the 1970s and 80s. During that time, and since, the guys in Free Flight have opened for such bands as Santana, Journey, Eddie Money, Head East, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Three Dog Night, and others.

Three of the original five-man line up are still currently in Free Flight. Original members Gale Rodarmer on guitar, Ben Stout on bass, and David Szot on guitar and keyboards are joined by new Free Flight drummer Terry Comer.

Free Flight plays many classic-rock favorites along with several newer songs by classic-rock bands.

“These songs have served us well over the years,” said band member Ben Stout, “and we are finding that these songs are still exciting audiences when we play them in concerts and other outings.”

Stout said, “The best thing about playing music again is meeting some of our fans from way back when,” “Rock and roll never dies!” he said.

Free Flight will be appearing at the Rambadt Park Band Shell in Reed City on July 9 from 7-9:30 p.m.
