REED CITY  — A former Evart Public Schools employee was charged last month with embezzling from the school district.

Lori Ann Miscikoski, 37, of Evart, is charged with one count of embezzlement of between $1,000 and $20,000 by an agent or trustee.

The alleged offenses occurred from September 2013 to July 2014 while Miscikoski was employed by the district in one of its administrative offices.

The felony charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in jail and a fine of $10,000 or three times the amount, whichever is greater.

Court documents state the warrant for Miscikoski's arrest was authorized on Sept. 9 by the Osceola County prosecutor. The case was bound over from Osceola County's 77th District Court to Osceola County's 49th Circuit Court on Sept. 11. Miscikoski posted $500 of the set $5,000 bond.

A settlement conference is set for 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, in Osceola County's 49th Circuit Court.
