A house fire Sunday afternoon caused part of Lincoln Avenue in Reed City to be closed while firefighters from multiple departments battled the blaze. Reed City Fire Department Lt. Thomas Updike said officials were dispatched for a structure fire and upon arrival began working to extinguish the flames on the first floor of the home. The cause of the fire is unknown, he said. The fire was extinguished shortly after firefighters arrived on scene and the road was reopened later in the evening. There were no injuries. The Reed City Fire Department was assisted on scene by other local departments, including the Reed City Police Department, Osceola County EMS, Osceola County Sheriff’s Department, Lincoln Township Fire Department, Hersey Township Fire Department and Evart Area Fire Department.
