Evart track teams get ready for key meets
EVART — Evart’s boys and girls track teams are getting ready for some key meetings coming up including the Manton Invitational on May 11, the Division 4 regional at East Jordan on May 19 and the Highland Conference meet at home on May 22.
The Wildcats had a home meet at Marion with the host school and Manton on May 1.
Evart took first with 86, followed by Manton with 65 and Marion with 24. For the girls, Manton had 80, followed by Evart with 56 and Marion with 38.
For the Evart boys, Shane Todd was first in the 200 meters (24.96) and second (12.47) in the 100. Tanner Ryan was second in the 400 meters (1:00.03), Austin Hamilton was first in the 3,200 meters (11:08.12) and second in the 800 meters (2:13.03), Nathan Woods was second in the 1,600 meters (4:53.08), Richard Foster was first in the 110 hurdles (18:91) and 300-meter hurdles (46.38), Vincent Browne, Todd, Kiamrin Grein and Ryan were first in the 4x100 relay (48.83), Ryan, Brown, Jason Todd and Shane Todd were first in the 4x200 relay (1:44.16).
For the Wildcat girls, Kara Henry was first in the 400 meters (1:11.2), Mckenzie VanBuren, Macey Wallace, Henry and Angela Gibbons won the 4x200 relay (2:01.21), Kaylee Ladd, Gibbins, VanBuren and Wallace were first in the 4x100 relay (55.77) Kelci Elder won the shot put (32-1/2) and Macey Wallace won the long jump (16-1).
