Evart students mask up for 'back to school'

Return to classroom goes smoothly

EVART -- Evart Elementary School students exited the building in an orderly manner, wearing their masks, as the school day ended early on Wednesday, Aug. 19, their first day back in the classroom since March.

Students, teachers and other school personnel said they were pleased with the way things went.

One student was heard saying, "I had a good day."

The 2019-20 school year was cut short with students participating in virtual learning for most of the second half of the year due the COVID-19 pandemic.

For now, most schools in the area are allowing parents the option of having their children return to the classroom or continue with virtual learning.

Rules and regulations have been implemented to mitigate the possible spread of COVID-19, as teachers, students and administrators return to school.

Sanitation and cleaning regiments have been upgraded, students and staff are required to wear face coverings at all times while inside the school building and social distancing measures are being observed.
