EVART — Area residents gathered for the annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, at Evart's Guyton Park for a program hosted by the Evart VFW Post No. 7979.

The service included music from the Evart High School Band, a special message and 21-gun-salute. From there, parade goers watched the procession parade south on Main Street to the U.S. 10 bridge, where a wreath was placed into the river.

There also was a small ceremony at Forest Hill Cemetery and concluded at VFW post.
