EVART — While it may not be warm enough yet to enjoy some summer activities, Evart Elementary School brought the "great outdoors" inside on Thursday, Feb. 15, during family night.

"This is our kickoff to March is Reading Month," said Principal Sarah Bailey.

Bailey said with the last week of March being spring break, school officials decided to start reading month early.

Each family night is focused on a different theme throughout the school year. Thursday evening's theme was "read s'more," during which families could read by flashlight in tents set up in one of the school hallways, or follow a story about woodland animals sharing a mitten during a book walk. Attendees also could enjoy a camping-style meal of hotdogs and baked beans and top dinner off with s'mores.

The next family night is set for Thursday, March 15.
