EVART — While temperatures skyrocketed into the lower 90s on Wednesday, July 4, hundreds of Evart community members and visitors spent their afternoon celebrating Independence Day with the annual parade and Party in the Park.

Floats, tractors, bicycles and trucks were decked out in red, white and blue and those riding in or walking alongside the vehicles tossed candy, shirts, beads and more to awaiting children, who eagerly rushed to Evart’s Main Street to fill plastic bags with their various treats.

As the parade came to an end, spectators followed the procession to Riverside Park, where games, a petting zoo and concessions were set up to continue the fun. After enjoying lunch and dessert, families could get their face painted, test their balance on mechanic surfing or bull rides and more.
