EVART — OK. It’s true nobody got sunburned while visiting the Evart Chamber of Commerce Flea Market and Yard Sale this past Saturday and Sunday.

It was a pretty cool and drab weekend — although there were moments of sunshine and a few views of open sky.

Whatever the case, thousands of eager yard sale and flea market aficionados filled Evart’s Air Industrial Park Saturday taking advantage excellent bargains from dozens of venders in what may well be the “biggest and best” event of its sort this season.

There were tons of great deals, close to home, with reasonable, (if not enjoyable), weather.

There was a a whole lot of fun for everyone.

Bargain hunters found everything from jerky to jumper cables, ax handles to foot massagers. And there were lots of goodies to strengthen shoppers as they moved between the dealers and venders.

Those marketing the goods made a good bit of money, and those on the buying side of things made some great deals.

A good time was had by all — especially those who managed to keep dry and warm!

Evart’s annual Evart Flea Market and Yard Sale had all the elements needed to attract thousands of buyers to one of the biggest sale events of its kind not only in Osceola County, but from much further afield as well.

The Flea Market site, located just off U.S. 10, had plentiful parking and throughout the day there were plenty of customers filling the lot and wandering through the dealers sites looking for a great bargain.

Despite the weather, it’s estimated that crowds were bigger than last year

Saturday was a little slow at times, but Sunday things continued on with a lot of people roaming around the area.

Folks wandered with goods already in hand. Close-by parking made it easy to off-load purchases before moving on to the next vender.

All in all, what has become a kick-off event for the vacation season in the Evart area was a great success — despite gray skies and occasional drizzle.
